Milon of Kaliganj of Satkhira district made his debut as a national commentator. Milan’s home is in Khubdipur village of Kaliganj, father late Alhaj Abdul Malek Master. Milan his nickname real name is Md Ismail Hossain. He auditioned for the voice test of a commentator in Bangladesh Betar, the state media of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. And pass with success. He made his debut in Bangladesh Betar as the only national commentator of Satkhira district in the third ODI between Bangladesh vs Ireland on 14th May 2023. Telling Sound of Community correspondent how he became a national commentator, he said Bangladesh won the ICC Trophy in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 1997 by defeating Kenya. Chowdhury Zafarullah Sharafat was on commentary at the last minute. “1 ball 1 run” was required. Since then I dreamed of becoming a commentator on Bangladesh Radio. Then I used to commentate in different fields and eventually I joined sports commentators and presenters on radio channels. As a result, I was able to develop myself very quickly. Today, I have achieved success. There are many people behind my success and I am grateful to them.
When asked what role he will play in the field of sports in the area, he said, “I was born in a marginal village of Kaliganj upazila of Satkhira district, and I am trying to attract the audience to sports by providing commentary in various fields so that they stay away from drugs, to build a drug-free society. Besides, there will be many players from here who will one day play in the national team. My plan is to create a beautiful sports environment in my area”. People of all walks of life expect that the voice of Md. Ismail Hossain Milan will make us happy when the cricket player Md. Mostafizur Rahman of Kaliganj, Saimya of Satkhira plays on the field.
